What Is Hip Hop and R&B Bingo with Tom Swoope?
Forget everything you think you know about bingo. Nobody's calling out numbers. This is a full live production — a DJ, a live drummer, and a host who runs the room like a concert.
Here's how it works: the DJ drops a song. You know it in three notes. You find that song title on your bingo board, you mark it, and then you sing it. Loud. With a few hundred other people who grew up on the exact same music you did. Somebody hits BINGO, the room goes up, and real cash money goes straight into their hand right there on the spot.
Between rounds, Tom takes the mic for the storytime segments that made him famous — the takes, the debates, the "first off, in my opinion" moments that have people arguing in the comments for a week straight.

Who Is Tom Swoope?
Tom Swoope is the creator, host, and producer of Hip Hop and R&B Bingo with Tom Swoope, and the voice behind First Off In My Opinion @firstoffinmyopinion — the lifestyle and storytime brand that earned him the name "Mr. Story Time" across every platform.
He's taken this show to City Winery stages nationwide, into Canada, and into every major market in the country. Over 350+ sold-out rooms and counting. He is not a background host reading names off a card — he's the reason the room stays on its feet.

The Venue: Privilege Rooftop & Lounge
We picked this room on purpose.
Privilege is Houston's premier upscale rooftop lounge, sitting in the heart of Midtown at 808 Anita St — minutes from Downtown and the Museum District, walking distance from everything. Since opening, it's hosted nights fronted by names like Trey Songz and Keyshia Cole, and built a reputation as the spot where grown folks in Houston actually want to be.
Indoor space. Climate-controlled, modern design, warm lighting, and a proper sound system. This is where the main show happens — clear sightlines to the stage, the DJ, and the drummer, with comfortable seating and full service throughout. September in Houston is still hot, so yes, you'll have real air conditioning.
Outdoor rooftop space. Over 5,000 square feet of combined indoor/outdoor patio with wide-open views of the Houston skyline. Because this is a day party, you get the rooftop in full daylight — breeze moving, city spread out in front of you, and the light hitting right for pictures. Step out between rounds, grab air, smoke premium hookah, and come right back in. You're never trapped in one room.
Food and drinks. Privilege runs a full kitchen and a craft cocktail program — real food, premium spirits, and one of the better hookah setups in the city. All available for purchase throughout the event. Come hungry.

Parking. Paid parking on site plus lots and street parking throughout Midtown. Rideshare is easy — Midtown is one of the most accessible pockets in Houston.

Do I need to know how to play bingo? No. If you know Hip Hop and R&B, you already know how to play. We explain everything from the stage before round one.
Is this fun if I'm not a "bingo person"? Nobody here is a bingo person. That's the point. This is a concert with a game attached.
Are the prizes real? Yes. Real cash prizes, handed out live, multiple times throughout the show.
Is there food and drinks? Yes — Privilege runs a full kitchen, full bar, craft cocktails, premium spirits, and premium hookah, all available for purchase.
What's the age restriction? 21+. Valid government-issued ID required for entry.
What should I wear? No strict dress code, but this is an upscale rooftop and the crowd shows up dressed. It's a day party, so think fits that photograph well in daylight. You'll be in a lot of pictures.
Can I come alone? People do it every show and leave with new friends. But it's better with your people.
Do I need to arrive early? Yes. Doors open at 2:00 PM and the show starts at 3:00 PM. General Admission seating is first come, first served — early arrival gets you the better seat. Reserved Tables must be claimed before showtime.
Can I buy at the door? Only if we don't sell out. We usually sell out. Buy in advance.
Can I bring my own food or drinks? No outside food or drinks permitted.
